City Attorney / City Marshal
The Office of the City Attorney is established by the City Charter of the City of Garland. The Office of the City Marshal is a law enforcement agency performing non-traditional law enforcement functions within the City of Garland.
City Manager's Office
Garland is chartered as a Home Rule City and operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The City Council appoints a professional Manager to administer City operations and to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, while the Council is responsible for City legislation and policy-making.
The City Secretary Department's mission is to facilitate, support and enhance the efforts of the City Council to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of their office and the ability of the general public to acquire and access public records and information.
The Code Compliance Department’s mission is to enforce State legislation and City ordinances that involve residential and commercial properties in order to ensure healthy, vital communities.
The City of Garland's Community Development Department administers and supports housing repair and development programs, social service programs and economic development programs that benefit low income persons in Garland.
